While we're still in the semi-final stage, speculation is rife as to who will be in the running for places in Sunday's US Open final. The semi-finals will be played tomorrow Friday between Djokovic and Shelton on one side, and Medvedev against Carlitos on the other. And the prospect of a Djoko Alcaraz final is whetting appetites. Some seats are reportedly going for $20,000 or more for the right to watch this eventual spectacle. It's true that the stakes are high: the Serb is looking to exact revenge for his Wimbledon final, add a 24th Grand Slam to his list of honours and justify his position as world number 1 from Monday (whatever happens, Djokovic will be number 1 at the beginning of next week). For our Carlitos, it's a question of succeeding himself as US Open winner, a feat not achieved since Roger Federer (5 times winner between 2004 and 2008) and asserting his supremacy over Djoko. That's why ticket prices are on the rise, and could even intensify between now and 8pm French time on Sunday.
Vamos Carlitos!
