A 4-set victory for Carlos Alcaraz over Evans from the UK. Very sure of his tennis in the first 2 sets, Carlitos dropped back a little in the 3rd set, losing 6-4. But the Murcian was determined to defend his title, and put his foot down to win the final set 6-3 after more than 3 hours of play. He is now in the last 16 of the US Open. He will meet Italian Matteo Arnaldi, who beat another British player, Cameron Norrie. Carlitos showed character, concentration and, of course, good play to continue in this tournament, bravo champion!
